Engine 5 arrived to find a working fire originating from the basement of a single-story, wood-framed structure. Engines 4 and 5 performed a fire attack while Rescue 2 conducted a primary search of the first floor, locating and removing several cats. Unfortunately, only one cat survived.

Engine 3 assumed the role of Rapid Intervention Team. Rescue 6 performed overhaul to ensure the rest of the structure was extinguished, while Truck 1 handled ventilation and other support functions.

The fire was placed under control in roughly 30 minutes. Firefighting efforts were hampered by high winds and severe fire damage to structural members and the contents within the structure.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
