Battle Creek Transit (BCT) gives notice of a proposed fare increase to be effective July 1, 2020.  BCT has operated under the same fare structure since 2003.  This proposed increase takes into consideration the increasing operational expenses over the last 17 years.  The following chart outlines the proposed changes:

The Battle Creek City Commission will hold a public hearing March 17, 2020 at 7 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers on the 3rd floor of City Hall, 10 N. Division Street, Battle Creek, on behalf of Battle Creek Transit to receive comments regarding the proposed fare increase.                                                                                                                               

​If you are unable to attend the meeting, written comments regarding the proposed changes may also be addressed to Mallory Avis, Transit Director, at 339 W. Michigan Avenue, Battle Creek, 49037 or be emailed to mravis@battlecreekmi.gov.  All written comments must be received no later than March 16, 2020. Anyone needing transportation to the 7 p.m. meeting should call 269-966-3474 no later than 4 p.m. on March 13, 2020.                                                                                                                        

​The City of Battle Creek will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as sign language interpreters for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered in the meeting upon 7 days notice to the City of Battle Creek.  Individuals requiring auxiliary aids or services should contact the City of Battle Creek 7 days prior to the meeting by writing or calling the following:  Victoria Houser, City Clerk, 10 North Division, Room 111, Battle Creek, MI 49014 or 269-966-3348.
